House rental in your holiday

Blyde Wildlife Estate is a beautiful area in the northeastern corner of South Africa. Here you can rent a fantastic villa with excellent views of the Drakensberg mountain range and have a unique wildlife experience. On the estate giraffe roam freely among zebra, warthog, blue wildebeest, antelope and many beautiful bird species.

It is warm all year round with the hottest months during summer from October to April. Daytime temperature averages between 20 and 40 degrees Celsius throughout the year. Days are dry with sunshine most every day. Evening temperatures are around 25 degrees Celsius during the summer months. During summer rain showers occur. Wintertime is June to August with clear blue skies, daytime temperatures from 22 to 28 degrees Celsius and cool nights between 10 to 15 degrees.

The house

The villa is situated among 55 other houses within the premises of the gated estate. 24 hour security ensures access only to people living or working on the estate.

The air-conditioned house is 275 square meters with 400 square meters of outdoor terraces, two of which are sheltered and serve as dining and living rooms. There are three large bed rooms with double beds and private luxury bathrooms included separate rest rooms.

The main hall is 60 square meters beautifully decorated in outback fashion with kitchen, living room, desk and more. Furthermore the house has a first floor with satellite widescreen TV and two more optional beds. There are 8 beds in total.

The house comes all inclusive. The servant maid takes care of cleaning, laundry and ironing plus clearing and washing up. You only need to bring your own belongings. The maid has her own separate quarters, and there is also a garage and laundry room.

Plots on the estate are hidden away in typical bush vegetation, and the style of the villa is authentically African with beautiful wooden construction under a high thatched roof.

The two sheltered terraces include dining tables, sun beds, chairs and facing the Drakensberg mountain range a lovely swimming pool.

Wireless internet and satellite TV are available as an extra service.

Car rental at your own arrangement through Avis at Hoedspruit Airport is recommended. Car rental fares are quite fair in South Africa, averaging from 35 EUR to 55 EUR depending on size and type of vehicle.

The house lies about 60 km from the Kruger National Park and 450 km northeast of Johannesburg.

Typically you fly from Europe with one stop to Johannesburg and from there you either drive to Blyde, which takes about 5 hours, or fly from Jo’burg to Hoedspruit with two daily departures.

Nearby Hoedspruit is where all daily groceries are bought, and there are several excellent restaurants in town and in the vicinity of the estate.
